Overview

This tour will take you to 2 historic and iconic architectural and cultural locations in Grand Cayman- Pedro St James Castle and Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Gardens. This tour is best for those who like to learn about history and the culture of the cities that they travel to but are not scared of a little adventure while learning more about new places.

The first stop on this tour is the famous Pedro St James Castle which is the oldest standing building in Grand Cayman. Built in 1801, at a time in the Cayman Islands when most people lived in tiny, thatch-covered houses, a wealthy Englishman, using slave labor from Jamaica, created an astonishing 3-storey building called Pedro St. James. Here you can explore the main building, the castle gardens and gazebo and also experience a multi-sensory 3D presentation at the Pedro Theatre.

Moving on, we visit the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Gardens, to view the colorful Caymanian flora. The now endangered Cayman parrots are a part of the variety of native and migratory aquatic birds and animals you will find while strolling the nature walk and national wetland. While you are there don’t forget to see one of the main features of the park which is the endangered Cayman Blue Iguana.
